Enter the First Horror. Where an mysterious Cult,
is trying to, bring out the Town's God, by sacrificing Harry's Daughter, Cheryl.
Characters of the first game:
Name: Harry Mason
Age: 32
Occupation: Writer.
Harry is a 32 year old writer. His wife, who still remains unnamed, died four years before the first game. Three years
before she died, they found a child on the side of the road outside of Silent Hill, took the child home and named her Cheryl.
For the next 7 years, Harry takes care of Cheryl up until the events of the first game. Harry and Cheryl then decide
to take a vacation to Silent Hill. While Harry is driving towards the town late at night with Cheryl in the front seat, he
sees a young woman walk into the path of his vehicle. He tries to avoid her but loses control of his Jeep and crashes into
a ditch. A few hours later in the morning, he awakens to find Cheryl missing. This is where the game starts off. Harry Mason
is the archetypal Silent Hill protagonist. As such he deviates substantially from other classic video game protagonists. He
is clumsy, and it is obvious he has never received training in survival or the use of firearms, a deficit which serves both
the realism of the game and the horror it attempts to induce in the player. Harry is the father of Heather (the main character
of Silent Hill 3). He was brutally murdered in Silent Hill 3 by the Missionary under Claudia Wolf's order.
Name: Cheryl Mason
Age: 7
Occupation: Midwich Elementary School, Student.
Cheryl, was the daughter of Dahlia, and Dr.Kaufmann,
and she carried the other half of Alessa's soul within her. After Lisa, had found the baby, Cheryl, and dumped her near the
highway, Harry Mason, found her and took care of her, because he and his wife could not have any chidren because of his wife's
illness. When Cheryl was 7 years old, she wanted Harry, to take him to Silent Hill with him, without actually knowing it,
the reason why she wanted to go there was that Alessa, called her. In that town Alessa's soul became whole once again.
Name: Cybil Bennett
Age: 22
Occupation: Police Officer
Cybil Bennett is a police officer from Brahms, a town neighboring Silent Hill.
She was sent to investigate her precinct's lack of communication with the Silent Hill police and was unwittingly drawn into
its strange world. Unlike the other human characters, Cybil is a skeptic and has difficulty accepting the paranormal activity
in town. She quickly befriends Harry Mason and helps him to find his daughter. In
the intro, Harry sees Cybil riding by on her motorcycle while he is driving with his daughter. Shortly before crashing his
jeep, he spots the bike again lying abandoned by the roadside. After
he is ambushed by demons in the game's opening, Harry somehow finds himself inside a cafe with Cybil. She can't find any logical
explanation to what has happened to the town ("The phones are all dead, and the radio, too") but feels that something is wrong.
Due to the alarming nature of their situation, Cybil lends Harry a Smith & Wesson Sigma pistol and tells him to be careful
with it. Much later in the game, Cybil shows up again in the antique shop right after Harry has been to the "Otherworld" of
Silent Hill. Here she explains that the police were investigating the flow of drugs in Silent Hill, which she attributes to
all the weird things going on. She seems reluctant to believe Harry's talk of demons and the occult. When Harry enters a boat
in the alternate resort area, he is relieved to run into Cybil again. This time, he insists that something otherworldly is
going on. Cybil is still reluctant to believe Harry, despite this time having seen the fog and snow turn into dark and rain.
Left with no recourse, Harry and Cybil decide to split up and look for Cheryl; Harry leaves to investigate the lighthouse
while Cybil heads toward the amusement park. Cybil fails to rendezvous with Harry on the boat, and Harry's next encounter
with her occurs on the amusement park's merry-go-round. Having been infected by the same type of worm-like parasite that controlled
the doctors and nurses in Alchemilla Hospital, Cybil draws her gun and attacks Harry. If the Red Liquid was obtained
earlier, it is possible for the player to rid her of the parasite's influence and save her; If not, Harry will have no option
but to kill her. If Harry spares her life in the amusement park, Cybil will appear in the final battle. She corners Dahlia
and Alessa Gillespie in the final area ("Nowhere"), but Alessa's psychic energy shoves Cybil back and knocks her out. If the
player achieves the bad+ ending, Cybil regains consciousness after the final boss fight. She walks over to Harry, smacks him
out of his grief, and tells him to "go". The Otherworld is crumbling around them, and it is unknown whether they escape or
not. If the player is awarded the good+ ending, Alessa gives Harry a newborn baby and uses her power to open a portal for
him. Cybil will wake up and follow Harry through the light, which transports them out of the Otherworld in time. After the
credits, the video from the game's opening of Harry and his wife finding Cheryl as a baby plays, with Cybil replacing Harry's
wife. If a new game plus is started from this save file, this new version of the sequence will replace the original version
in the opening video as well. The significance of this is not known, as the good+ ending of Silent Hill is not canon..
Name: Dr.Michael
Kafumann
Age: 50
Occupation: Medical Director of Alchemilla Hospital
Doctor Michael Kafuman, was the director of
the Alchemilla Hospital, and he was also a member of the religious cult in Silent Hill. It was he who spread the drug called
White Claudia, in Silent Hill. Not only was he a drug dealer, but he was the father of Alessa Gillespie, - a girl who was
going to birth the God. Suspecting Dahlia, in betraying him after God was born, Kaufmann, also made Aglaophotis, a serum which
was supposed to have an effect on the God. He didn't want Dahlia, to get too much power, so he would use the strange serum
if he thought it was necessary. When Dahlia, perforemed a ritual in her own basement which caused the fire, then it was Kaufmann,
who prepared a substitute body of Alessa; it's possible he was also the one who performed the "autopsy." After Alessa, was
secretly taken to the Alchemila Hospital, Michael, made Lisa Garland, look after her and he gave her the drug if she did her
job. Dahlia, again conceived another child with Kaufmann, and placed the other half of Samael's soul, into the body of the
child. Later on, when Lisa, refused to work there any longer and kidnapped a baby, Michael Kafumann, killed her.
Name: Lisa Garland (The Red Nurse)
Age: 23
Ocupation: Nurse, at Alchemilla
Hospital. (In charge of Alessa Gillespie.)
Lisa Garland, was a regular nurse working at the
Alchemilla Hospital. The director of the hospital, Micheal Kaufmann, forced her to take care of Alessa Gillespie, when she
was brought to the hospital after the tragic fire. Alessa, was kept in the hospital's basement and Lisa, couldn't tell about
anything that was down there. In order to keep Lisa, doing her job, Kaufmann, had to give her drugs for that. Lisa, became
addicted to a drug called, "White Claudia" and if she did her job then she could get more from Kaufmann. Kaufmann, killed
her when she kidnapped Dahlia's newborn baby. Lisa, met Harry, when Harry, went to the hospital looking for her daughter.
What she didn't realise was, that she was already dead...
Name: Dahlia Gillespie
Age: 46
Occupation: Owner of the 'Green
Lion' Antique Store
Dahlia, was the member of The Order, and together
with her other cult members they used Dahlia's daughter, Alessa Gillespie, to summon the ancient God of town, Samael. Dahlia,
also keeps a little antique shop in Silent Hill, according to the rumors, she has knowlegde about magic spells and occult
stuff. She offered her very own daughter for the God, by setting the room where Alessa, was, on fire. According to the newspapers
and media Alessa Gillespie. (7 years old) died in that fire. However, actually she survived and she was taken to the Alchemilla
Hospital, where she was kept alive despite the severe burns.
Name: Alessa Gillespie
Age: 14
Occupation: Unknown.
Alessa, was the daughter of Dahlia, and Micheal Kaufmann.
Dahlia, placed the soul of Samael into Alessa's body. She wanted her to become a part of The Order, and wanted to use her
to birth the God, of the Town. When Alessa, went to Midwich Elementary School, the other kids at school picked on her because
she had some powers of her own. She could make things happen with her mind, and thus other children called her a witch. Alessa,
feared her mother's and The Order's intentions and she refused to use her powers for the benefit of the cult. Dahlia, treated
Alessa, terribly to nurture the God, within her. Later Dahlia, decided to sacrifice her own daughter by locking Alessa, in
the basement and setting the house on fire. The terrible fire burnt down many houses nearby and according to newspapers Alessa,
(7 years old) died in that fire. However, half of her soul escaped from that fire and she survived because the God, within
her was keeping her alive although Alessa, had injuries that would not let any human live after that accident. Alessa, was
secretly taken to Alchemilla Hospital, where she stayed for another 7 years, and Lisa, had to look after her. Meanwhile Dahlia,
had another child with Kaufamann, and she placed the other half of the soul in her (Cheryl). Lisa, found out about that and
she kidnapped the baby, and dumped it on the highway. It's because of Alessa, that other people had to experience the
'Alternate Silent Hill', and the nightmarish worlds, all the horrors, tortures and fears she had been through (especially
the ones while she was at the hospital) had now come to life.
